Isabella a cappella is a Lismore institution.Founded in 1984 by the late Isabel Atcheson, the vocal group was created to give students and staff at The Northern Rivers Advanced College of Education a chance to sing and perform together. Fast forward 100 singers, 3 choir directors and an institutional name change later, and the group is alive and well.
Currently directed by Dylan Curnow, the choir consists of an equal mix of male and female voices. The repertoire is an eclectic mix of blues, folk, pop and jazz ‘a capella’ arrangements, many of which are specifically arranged or adapted by Dylan for the group.

Isabella Acappella spent two nights recording material for their "tour edition" CD on the 3rd and 4th of May, 2011. We were very lucky to have legendary sound engineer Michael Stavrou, who has engineered recordings for Paul McCartney, Cat Stevens, classical guitarist John Williams and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, among many others.
The Japan tour in 2011 was the 7th and most ambitious tour of Japan by Isabella a cappella. With 11 singers, a tour co-ordinator translator and a photographer, we travelled all over the country for a little over 3 weeks.
