Monday was a quieter day, with a performance at Sun City Nursing Home in Takarazuka. We all met at the station (all except one member, anyhow, who went to a different station) and got taxis to the very comfortable and well appointed retirement village. The weather was quite unpleasant (cold wind and rain) so it was nice to be indoors looking out.
The staff and residents were very welcoming and the performance space had a lovely acoustic and a well maintained grand piano. Our lost group member made his way to the venue independently by taxi and the concert was very well received. Performing for and interacting with many different kinds of communities is one of the special things about the Isabella a cappella Japan tours.
Following the performance we had some free time to explore. Some members went to the historic Takarazuka onsen (Japenese style public baths), others went shopping and others headed into Osaka to eat delicious Japanese food (including the local specialty okonomiaki, a Japanese style savoury pancake of particular tastiness)
