Isabella a cappella has been operating for over 30 years with many changes of members, directors and repertoire over that time. Today, the group is planning to expand it’s membership to include a larger pool of singers at rehearsals, while maintaining a performance core of 8 members. The make-up of this smaller group will vary at each performance, depending upon the availability and level of rehearsal of the singers.
We are aiming to perform regularly (once or twice a month) at local venues, SCU graduation ceremonies (Lismore campus: Sept 21st and November 2nd) and to tour Japan in 2019.
Repertoire is always growing and you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of material, varying in genre and arrangement style. This will require a certain level of musicianship, commitment to rehearsals and home practice. While backing tracks are usually provided to aid this process, the ability to read music will be a definite advantage.
After contacting us, you will be provided with an audition pack, including the score and backing track for part of an a cappella arrangement to learn. You will also be asked to prepare a song of your choice to perform and to book in a time to audition.
Singing with Isabella A Cappella will give you the opportunity to sing in a group on a regular basis, challenge yourself musically, learn new material and skills, meet new people, perform in a professional environment and possibly travel to Japan and experience that country in a very unique way.
We encourage male singers, particularly to apply, but welcome all enquiries!
